How to use Automation within your SAP Landscape, from Building through to RPA
In this session, I shall discuss how I have helped customers to approach their automation journey from the most basic automations through to more complex workflows. It will give some tips and guidance on how to bring automation to the stages of Build, Manage and Change and how to identify where it does not bring value.
This session will also show where automation is part of an organisation's DevOps journey and how it can bring measurable impact to your landscape. I have built automations through scripting languages like Bash, Powershell, using tools like Puppet, Ansible, and Chef and provisioned landscapes using native Cloud tools like Cloudformation from AWS and Cloud Deployment Manager from GCP as well as tools like Pulumi and Terraform. With the Application layer, I have automated using UiPath, Windows Macros and Microsoft Flow to create RPAs to help me with basic administration functions. This session will show how these experiments brought value to what I was doing and where they were just a time sink.
Key takeaways:
1. The importance of developer workflows and processes
2. How automation fits within their SAP landscape
3. Where automation makes sense
